Privacy Policy — QuantRoute: GMAT & GRE Quant

QuantRoute: GMAT & GRE Quant ("the app", shown on your phone as "QuantRoute", Android package com.balanced.gmat_gre_prep) is a quantitative test-prep app for adults preparing for the GMAT and GRE. It is published by Imran. This policy is short and plain on purpose. If anything here is unclear, write to us (see Contact).

The short version

• Your practice, progress and settings stay on your phone.
• A recovery email is optional. If you choose "Sync across devices", you give us an email address. We use it only to send you sign-in codes and to let you get your account back on another phone. It is never shown to anyone, never used for marketing, and never sold.
• The online leaderboard and "Send feedback" are also optional.
• No ads, no analytics, no tracking. We never sell or share your data.

What stays on your phone

Your practice history, progress, mastery and percentile estimates, pace, streaks, goals and settings are stored on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes them from your phone (but see "Deleting your data" for the online account).

If you have Android backup turned on, Android may copy this app data to your own Google account so it comes back on a new phone. That copy belongs to you and Google; we cannot see it.

Your recovery email (optional)

"Sync across devices" is off until you turn it on. If you turn it on:

• You type an email address. We send a short code to it, and you type the code into the app to confirm the address is yours.
• On a new phone, you enter the same email, get a new code, and the app signs you back in to the same account.
• The email is stored with your account in our database. It is used only for these sign-in codes and to recover your account. It is never shown on the leaderboard or to other users, never used for newsletters or marketing, and never sold or shared for advertising.
• The code emails are sent for us by our email provider, Resend, which receives your email address only to deliver the message.

Today, syncing moves your leaderboard nickname and standings between devices. If we add syncing of your practice progress, we will update this page before that version of the app comes out.

Your online account (made automatically)

To make the optional online features work, the first time the app goes online it creates an account for you with a random ID. It has no name and no email unless you add a recovery email. It is stored in our database, which is run for us by Supabase.

The online leaderboard (optional)

If you choose a nickname, that nickname and your weekly score (the gems you earn by practising) appear on a leaderboard that other users of the app can see. Please pick a nickname that does not reveal who you are. To change or remove it, write to us.

"Send feedback" (optional)

If you report a problem, we receive what you picked, the note you typed (if any), which question or lesson it is about (and, for a question, the answer you chose), the app version and the time. Please don't type personal details into the note. We use reports only to fix mistakes in the app.

Purchases

Payments for Pro are handled by Google Play. We never see your card or payment details.

To know whether you have Pro, the app uses a service called RevenueCat. When the app opens, and when you buy or restore Pro, it sends RevenueCat a random ID that the app makes up, your purchase records for this app from Google Play, and basic technical details such as the app version, device model, Android version and your internet (IP) address. RevenueCat uses this only to confirm your purchase.

Who handles data for us

We use a few services to run the features above. Each one gets only what that feature needs:

• Google Play: payments. Google privacy policy
• RevenueCat: checking your Pro purchase. RevenueCat privacy policy
• Supabase: the database for your online account, nickname, scores, feedback and (if you add it) your recovery email. Supabase privacy policy
• Resend: delivering the sign-in code emails. Resend privacy policy

Everything the app sends travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.

What we do not do

• No advertising, and no advertising IDs.
• No analytics or tracking tools.
• No location, contacts, camera, microphone or photos.
• We never sell, rent or trade any information.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your online account (random ID, nickname, scores, feedback and recovery email, if any) for as long as you use it. To have it deleted, email support@learningonmyown.com from your recovery email, or tell us your nickname. We delete it within 30 days and confirm by email. You can also ask us what we hold about you. Uninstalling the app does not delete the online account, so please write to us if you want that.

Permissions

• Internet: for the purchase check and the optional online features above.
• Google Play billing: to buy Pro.
• Notifications: for the optional daily reminder you turn on yourself.
• Run at startup: to bring your reminder back after the phone restarts.
• Vibrate: for small taps of feedback while you practise.

Who this app is for

This app is made for adults preparing for graduate-school entrance exams. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us an email address, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If what the app collects changes, we will update this page before that version of the app comes out. The date at the top shows the latest version.
